Boat Wax
Boat Broke knows boat wax is a preventive measure that is important when you a boat owner. One way to protect your boat is to wax it regularly. Waxing your boat from the first day will help to keep that beautiful shine going for 15 years or more. Did you purchase a used boat that looks chalky? Waxing your boat can help with that too.
Why?
Waxing your boat can also help to prevent discoloration due to the elements that can cause fading. Waxing your boat can also help to keep it clean and makes it harder for grime to adhere to the gel coat finish. It will prevent your boat getting chalking or hazing. Natural elements like the sun, wind, saltwater and even algae can quickly take the shine out of your boat. UV damage will quickly cause your boat to fade. I think these are good reasons why you should wax your boat twice a year. Don’t forget to make sure it’s a marine wax!
How often?
Your boat should be waxed about twice a year with a standard marine wax. The better the boat wax the longer it will last. If you want something to last longer you may want to check into ceramic coating. One application can last a year or two depending on the manufacturer of the ceramic coating. Some professional ceramic coating can last for 5 years but its VERY pricey. Save some money and get that arm workout by using a Marine wax twice a year.
